    Description

    Large antique Wrought Iron Staple, found in our family's 1810 New Hampshire barn.  It is 7/16" thick, and measures 4" across the top, 5 1/4" across the tips, and 5 5/8" from top to tips.  It weighs a half a pound.
    I have seen ones like this used as part of a barn door latch, or as a hitching place.  What might you do with this huge staple?
