    Description

    Antique 1800's metal portable weighing scales. can be hand held when in the field, or hooked to a sturdy upper beam. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.  This metal is not rusted, although it shows some corrosion.  Could be bronze or other metal.  The counter weight, shaped like a pear may be filled with lead.  Whoever invented this set of scales had a brain back in the day.  My grandfather, born in 1889
    had it, and my father inherited it and left it to me.  We have used it on many a deer hunt to weigh our deer.  I'm old, don't hunt any more, nor do my children, who sit in offices to do their work.  But this scale brings back many many memories for me...
